  • April 23, 2014 - The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that 20th Century Fox has brought the rights of Flash Gordon with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay writing the script.
  • August 8, 2008 - The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will write the script for the upcoming Flash Gordon movie.
  • June 29, 2008 - Don S. Davis, who portrayed the character Mr. Mitchell in the Sci Fi Channel Flash Gordon series, has died. He was 65 years old. He appeared on Flash Gordon for two episodes, but was much more well known for playing the characters General Hammond on Stargate SG-1 and Major Briggs on Twin Peaks. He will be missed.
  • May 20, 2008 - The Hollywood Reporter has just announced that Columbia Pictures is in talks to produce a new movie based on the Flash Gordon comic strip. Breck Eisner will direct and Neal Moritz will produce. No writers are on board, as of yet.
